Neurotoxins minimize muscle activity in the face that causes the skin above the muscle to wrinkle. Smiling, laughing, frowning, and squinting are all muscle movements that can cause wrinkles and fine lines to form. If these aren’t treated with neurotoxin, wrinkles begin to form. They smooth fine lines in the forehead, number 11 lines, vertical mouth lines, and lines on the chin and can be used to lift the eyebrows and treat bunny lines, which are the lines that have formed from scrunching your nose. Various neurotoxin also have numerous off-label uses that you may be able to benefit from in your aesthetic goals.

At Absolute Wellness and Aesthetics, we offer Dysport, Xeomin, and Botox to our patients. We will determine the best neurotoxin for you based on your needs and areas of concern.

We can complete your neurotoxin/botox appointment in as little as 15 minutes! During your consultation at Absolute Wellness and Aesthetics, we will assess your skin, discuss your aesthetic goals, and determine how many units you will need. We will create a treatment plan to best suit your needs with your safety as our top priority.

Pre-Treatment Instructions

Alcohol can increase the risk of bruising and thinning the blood. Do not consume any alcohol or alcoholic beverages for at least 24 hours before your treatment.
If possible, avoid anti-inflammatory and blood-thinning medications for two weeks before treatment. Aspirin, ginkgo Biloba, ginseng, vitamin E, St. John's Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil Supplements, Ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, Aleve, and other NSAIDS can cause blood thinning and increase the risk of swelling or bruising post-treatment.
Schedule Dermal Filler and Neurotoxin appointments at least two weeks before any special events you may be attending, such as a vacation or a wedding. Swelling and bruising may appear after treatment but will subside on its own. Results should appear after 14 days.
Stop using Retin-A two days before your appointment and continue it three days after your appointment.
If you have irritation or a rash/blemish in the treatment area, reschedule your appointment.
Let your provider know if you have a history of cold sores so they can put you on an anti-viral medication before you begin treatment.
Eat a quality meal before your procedure to prevent lightheadedness during the treatment.
You are not a good candidate for this procedure if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Post-Treatment Instructions

DO NOT touch or manipulate your treatment area for at least three hours after treatment.
DO NOT schedule or receive any facial/laser treatments or microdermabrasion after neurotoxin treatment for at least ten days. If you are unsure about a time frame, ask your provider.
DO NOT lie down for at least four hours after your neurotoxin treatment. This prevents the product from potentially causing drooping eyelids.
DO NOT participate in any vigorous exercise or physical activity.
Results can be seen two weeks after your treatment. You can schedule an appointment for additional neurotoxin treatment if you do not get the desired results. However, you will be charged for any product used in initial treatment and subsequent appointments.
