It Is Not a Willpower Problem
If you have struggled with diets that do not last, or it feels like your body is working against you, you are not imagining it.
Weight gain is influenced by hormones, metabolism, insulin resistance, appetite signalling, lifestyle, and underlying medical conditions. It is not simply a lack of discipline. Hunger hormones drive appetite even when your calorie needs are met, and metabolism slows in response to restriction, which makes a deficit harder to hold the longer you maintain it.
That is a biological problem, and it responds to medical treatment.
Our Prescription Weight Loss Options
Your treatment plan may include one medication or a combination of therapies when clinically appropriate.
GLP-1 and Related Medications
GLP-1 based medications help regulate appetite, improve feelings of fullness, reduce food cravings, and support blood sugar control. They work by mimicking a hormone your body already produces to signal satiety, which is why eating less stops feeling like a constant battle.
Options include but are not limited to:
- Semaglutide
- Wegovy®
- Tirzepatide
- Zepbound®
- Mounjaro®, when medically appropriate for patients with diabetes
- Other GLP-1 or metabolic medications based on availability, eligibility, and individual needs
Wegovy and Zepbound are prescription medications used alongside reduced-calorie nutrition and increased physical activity for eligible patients with obesity or overweight and certain weight-related conditions. Mounjaro is indicated for type 2 diabetes and may be considered when that diagnosis and other clinical criteria are present.

Often a good fit for
- First-time medical weight loss patients
- Patients wanting gradual, sustainable weight loss
- Individuals with insulin resistance
- Prediabetes
Tirzepatide
Dual hormone weight loss therapy
Tirzepatide activates both GLP-1 and GIP receptors, which makes it one of the most effective weight loss medications currently available. Clinical studies have demonstrated substantial average weight reductions when combined with diet and exercise.
Benefits

- Better blood sugar control
- Reduced cravings
- Significant fat loss
- Helps preserve lean muscle when paired with adequate protein and resistance training
- May improve insulin resistance
Often a good fit for

- Type 2 diabetes, when appropriate
- Metabolic syndrome
- Patients who have struggled with traditional diets
Customized treatment
When medically appropriate, we may prescribe customized compounded tirzepatide through a U.S. FDA-registered outsourcing facility or state-licensed compounding pharmacy that meets applicable regulatory requirements, in cases where commercially available products are not appropriate or individualized dosing is needed. Your provider will discuss the best option for your specific situation.

Benefits
- Powerful appetite control
- Less food noise
- Improved insulin sensitivity
- Once-weekly injection
Oral Weight Loss Medications
For patients who prefer a non-injectable option, or who may benefit from additional appetite and craving support, we may consider:

- Medications that support insulin sensitivity or metabolic health
- Customized combination therapy when appropriate
Contrave is approved as an addition to reduced-calorie nutrition and increased physical activity for chronic weight management in eligible adults.
Contrave®
Weight loss without injections

- Oral medication
Often a good fit for patients who

Appetite Suppressant Programs
Personalized prescription weight loss
Not every patient needs a GLP-1 medication. Depending on your health history, medications such as phentermine or other evidence-based prescription options may be appropriate as part of a comprehensive plan.
These medications are always combined with:
- Nutrition counseling
- Exercise planning
- Behavioral coaching
- Regular follow-up visits
Combination Weight Loss Programs
Customized for you
Many patients achieve the best outcomes with a combination approach. Depending on your needs, your provider may recommend:
- GLP-1 therapy
- Appetite suppressants, when appropriate
- Vitamin injections
- Lipotropic injections
- Peptides, when appropriate
- Hormone optimization
- Nutrition counseling
- Exercise coaching
- Medical-grade supplements
Combination therapy is never one-size-fits-all. Every recommendation is based on your health history, laboratory findings, response to treatment, and long-term goals.
Not every medication is right for every patient. Your provider will consider your medical history, current medications, laboratory results, blood pressure, previous weight loss efforts, and personal goals before recommending treatment.
More Than a Prescription
Medication can be helpful, but lasting success requires more than a prescription. Your program may also include:
Nutrition counseling and guidance
We help you develop a practical nutrition plan focused on adequate protein intake, balanced meals and portion awareness, improved blood sugar stability, reduced cravings and unnecessary snacking, maintaining muscle while losing body fat, and strategies that work with your actual lifestyle.
Exercise and movement guidance
Your provider can help you establish an appropriate activity plan based on your current fitness level, physical limitations, and goals. Recommendations may include walking, cardiovascular exercise, strength training, and strategies to protect lean muscle mass during weight loss.
Medical-grade supplements
For patients who prefer a more natural approach or who need additional nutritional support, we offer carefully selected medical-grade supplements. These may support metabolic health, energy, blood sugar balance, healthy digestion, nutritional deficiencies, muscle maintenance, and general wellness. Supplements can be used alone or combined with prescription treatment when appropriate.
Ongoing medical support
Weight loss needs change as your body changes. Regular follow-up visits allow your provider to monitor your progress, review side effects and medication tolerance, adjust treatment when necessary, help prevent muscle loss, address plateaus, reinforce nutrition and exercise strategies, and develop a plan for long-term maintenance.
Laboratory-Guided Care
Difficulty losing weight may be related to an underlying medical or metabolic issue. Laboratory testing lets us look beyond the number on the scale and evaluate what may actually be holding you back. In-depth thyroid, hormone, and vitamin labs often shape the plan, and our clinics offer full lab options with discounted cash-pay pricing.
Testing may include:
- Blood sugar and insulin markers
- Thyroid function
- Metabolic and liver function
- Cholesterol levels
- Blood count
- Vitamin B12
- Vitamin D
- Hormone levels when indicated
- Additional testing based on your symptoms and medical history
Your results help us identify barriers and build a more precise treatment strategy.
Am I a Candidate?
The standard clinical criteria for GLP-1 therapy are a BMI of 30 or higher, or a BMI of 27 or higher with at least one weight-related health condition such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, or sleep apnea.
That said, eligibility is determined in person rather than by a checklist. Your provider reviews your full medical history, current medications, laboratory results, blood pressure, and previous weight loss attempts.
You may be a good candidate if you:
- Have struggled to lose weight with diet and exercise alone
- Have a BMI in the range above, or a weight-related health condition
- Have insulin resistance or prediabetes
- Want medical supervision rather than a telehealth prescription
- Are prepared to make nutrition and activity changes alongside medication
When a different approach makes sense
Not everyone needs or wants medication, and not everyone qualifies. Some patients do better with a natural program built around nutrition, exercise, supplements, and lab-guided care. Some medications are not appropriate given certain medical histories, and your provider will tell you that directly.
Prescription medications are provided only after an appropriate medical evaluation and when clinically indicated. Eligibility, medication selection, results, side effects, and insurance coverage vary.
Pricing and Insurance
Cost depends on which medication you are prescribed, your dose, and whether your insurance covers it. Coverage for weight loss medication varies considerably between plans, and your provider’s office can help you understand what applies to you.
Because plans and pricing change, exact costs are reviewed at your consultation once your treatment plan is determined.
Payment and financing
We accept cash, credit cards, PatientFi, Cherry, and CareCredit.
PatientFi is our preferred financing partner and the application takes just a few minutes.

HSA and FSA funds may be applied to medically eligible services depending on your individual plan. Medical weight loss often qualifies, but coverage varies, so please confirm with your plan administrator.
We also offer full lab panels with discounted cash-pay pricing.

What Our Patients Are Saying
Frequently Asked Questions About Prescription Weight Loss Medications
Who qualifies for prescription weight loss medication?
The standard criteria are a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with a weight-related condition such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, or sleep apnea. Your provider reviews your full medical history and previous weight loss attempts during your consultation, and eligibility is determined in person.
How long before I see results?
Most patients notice reduced appetite within the first one to two weeks. Measurable weight loss typically begins between weeks four and eight as your dose increases. The most significant results build over six to twelve months at therapeutic doses.
What happens if I stop the medication?
Weight regain is common after stopping, which is well documented across this medication class. That is why your provider builds a maintenance strategy into your plan from the beginning, so discontinuation is planned and supported rather than abrupt.
Do I have to stay on medication forever?
Not necessarily, and that is a conversation to have with your provider rather than a decision made upfront. Some patients transition to a maintenance dose, some move to a natural program once their weight is stable, and some stay on medication long term because it is managing a chronic condition. Your plan can change as your situation does.
Can I exercise while taking a GLP-1?
Yes, and you should. Resistance training in particular helps protect lean muscle during weight loss, which matters because losing muscle alongside fat slows your metabolism and works against you long term. Your provider will help you build an appropriate plan.
How do I keep from losing muscle?
Adequate protein intake and resistance training are the two things that matter most. This is a real concern with rapid weight loss, and it is part of why medical supervision beats a mail-order prescription. Your provider will monitor for it and adjust your plan.
Does insurance cover it?
Sometimes, and it varies widely by plan and by medication. Some plans cover FDA-approved weight loss medications, some cover them only with a diabetes diagnosis, and some exclude them entirely. Our office can help you understand what your plan allows.
Are compounded medications safe?
When prescribed appropriately and sourced from a U.S. FDA-registered outsourcing facility or state-licensed compounding pharmacy that meets applicable regulatory requirements, compounded medications are a legitimate option. We use them when commercially available products are not appropriate for you or when individualized dosing is needed, and your provider will explain the reasoning in your specific case.
Can I use these medications if I have type 2 diabetes?
Yes, and GLP-1 medications have a particularly well-established record in patients with diabetes. Both semaglutide and tirzepatide were developed for blood sugar management before their weight loss benefits were fully characterized. Your provider will coordinate with your existing treatment plan and monitor your labs closely.
What if I do not want to take medication?
That is a legitimate choice and we have a program for it. Our natural weight loss program uses nutrition, exercise, medical-grade supplements, and lab-guided care without prescription medication.
How often will I be seen?
Regularly, particularly early on while your dose is being adjusted. Follow-up visits let your provider monitor progress, review side effects and tolerance, address plateaus, and adjust treatment. Your provider will set a schedule at your consultation.
